We need more than hope.
Orkambi, a drug that can dramatically improve the quality of life for some people
with cystic fibrosis, was approved by Health Canada two years ago. But at
$250,000 a year, it’s out of reach for people without private health coverage.
That’s hundreds of people across the country who can’t afford the medication
that could change their lives.
Tell provincial governments how wrong that is. Tell them it’s time they provided
coverage for Orkambi. Tell them it’s time for them to take care of all Canadians.
Speak out now.
Two Years is Too Long
Medication changes everything for people with cystic fibrosis. It allows people
like Annie to do more than hope she’ll be able to walk down the aisle to
her fiancé. It gives parents Stefanie and Adam more than hope for a life
without limits for their 14-month-old daughter Penny. It allows Pearl’s mom
and dad to do more than hope she’ll see all her dreams come true.
Help make all the difference for people who need Orkambi. They need more than
hope. They need your voice.
They’ve been waiting for two years for public coverage, despite the fact that
doctors and patients alike can’t say enough about how Orkambi is changing
lives. “It has made all the difference in the world to her health,” says
the family of one young woman taking Orkambi.
Better breathing. Healthier days. Longer lives. More time doing things that have nothing to do with cystic fibrosis. That’s what the right medication can do. Fight for all of those things for people with cystic fibrosis. Fight for everything they hope for by giving more than hope. Tell the government it’s time to step up and take care of Canadians waiting for the medication they need to improve their health.
Fight for access to Orkambi. Speak out now.
